Hi Vani,

Thanks for your observations!!!

i liked that sentence..."At any point the circuit of communication has to be complete"...and to make it complete in our discussion, i am blogging more..see how it sounds to you?

I think I should have communicated better in my earlier blog...like when I asked him if I can meet him at his home, He wanted me to come to park & everyday we fixed a spot & somehow, we confused....like he will say near the gate..& I would stand at the first gate & later will know that there was another gate, where he had waited..or he will say that he will come in red matiz...but after two days he may forget fully come in scooter & I will be waiting in the walkway, looking out for the red matiz....something like that....

Secondly...

1. It is but human nature to get frustrated because unlike the worm we've got several jobs to execute.

really???

dont the worms need to take care of food, shelter or any other thing that a human being needs for his living???

thirdly,

"Patience is mightier than ocean"...I think that is a wonderful metaphor...thank u for that!!

Best Wishes,
Ashok

Modelling Nature

This was a big experience of mine, observing a tiny worm, which happened oneday early morning in a park, during my college days, when I was waiting to meet a company PR manager for a function sponsorship, as he wanted me to meet him, during his morning walk.

It was the third day , that I have to come to the park to meet him, but somehow missed him everyday, in the morning crowd, owing to some misunderstanding with our communication.

That tiny worm, I am speaking about, supplied me of tonnes and tonnes of endurance and patience to never give up in my life, to whatever extent it takes for me.

After a walk and search for 20 minutes, I was frusturated that I couldn't catch him that day & came and sat on a bench under a huge tree in the park.

It was a tamarind tree, may be 60 - 70 years of age, I think. the leaves and branches have reached the top, may be 10 - 15 metres high. It had a long trunk.

I sat in such a place that I was able to see the people walking in the walkway, so that I can identify that PR Manager, if he comes that way.

I was a bit tired and restless that I could not find him.It was very cool in the morning and slightly windy. I was slowly feeling comfortable, enjoying the morning weather.

when I was gazing here and there, suddenly a small tiny green worm caught my attention. It was a few foot before me & may be a feet, above my head, in height.( I was sitting on a bench) It was floating in the air. when I carefully observed, I saw that it was hanging on the small thread (of its web) from a branch which was almost 5- 6 metres high. may be 3- 4 times of my height.

I wondered, being so small, how much time it would take for it to climb to the top through that thread.I thot it could be a day or so.I thot it may be used to that kind of slow life.

I felt it quite amazing and then was looking around at other things.

that small worm was continuously moving mm by mm up.

suddenly there was a strong wind and that worm started oscillating to and fro.

unfortunately, It came down with that thread to, may be a metre below. I was able to look at it at some distance near my knees.

I was curious to know what it shall do now.

It remained silent till the wind died down and then slowly started moving up mm by mm. I felt it moved faster than before. I appreciated it's courage to move up again within my mind and kept watching.

I was slowly getting frustrated that I was waiting for a long time.I thot how many days should I spend in just finding him?? I thot, may be he will not sponsor & that's y I could not spot him for continuous three days, though both came to the same place.

With this negative thoughts, running in my mind, I was loosing patience & thot, what should I do to meet him?

after sometime, I could see that worm near my head.I was a bit surprised that it moved to that level in that small time.

by the time I was dejected and frusturated, it had been working continuously and climbing mm by mm to reach a metre atleast.

the point that really pulled my hair, was

Firstly,

being such a tiny worm, it aims to reach the tree, which is even a big thing for me (for a human like me).then, being a human (with all extra senses & thinking power) where should I aim for?

if I had been a worm like that, with my attitude, I would have only aimed for a small plant to build my web and with my mindset (of talking about thinking big ), I would have never looked upon really such a huge tree. I shall really loose to this worm very badly , if there is a competition of thinking big (JUST THINKING ITSELF,LEAVE ALONE ACHIEVING).

so the first question, that went through my mind was...

1. am I really thinking big at the level of human being ?

secondly,

doing nothing but just waiting in the bench, lazily, I got frusturated.but this tiny worm, even in the event of falling down (from a bigger height to a smaller height), due to the unexpected wind, did not lose heart, did not get frusturated, but silently started again and considerably achieved, in the mean time of my waiting.

may be those creatures, just keep trying , trying & trying & that's how they make their living, everyday withstanding all the obstacles they face(wind, rain, hot sun, etc..), without any thinking power..I dont know...

I thot this worm's persistence would have been several times higher than thomas alva edison.

2.why should we get stressed or frusturated, in the event of setbacks. why not we just start our efforts on default after every setback(ofcourse with feedbacks) like that
worm, with out wasting a single second, in negative emotions & poor self confidence??.

I felt these two questions have supplied me enormous resources, which I dont think, I will learn any where else, that easily and with which I felt there is a great difference in my attitude before and there after....

how about yours, now?
